¶Everything starts with dreams and visions
And my dream is go (beyond what I think I can)
And to do more than (what it takes)
Unsurprisingly, the road for me to go there (is not always easy)
I’ve been bombarded with struggles and underestimation

If you just within me¶
That is a part of Agnez Mo prologue song from her third album “Sacredly Agnezious”
entitled “I BELIEVE”. The prologue tells us that we must believe that we can make our
dream comes true. Her spirit shows us that Agnez is someone who is truly dare to
dream. She’s not only dream it, fellas! But she did it to make it happen! Her
unstoppable hard work inspires us that it’s not easy to reach our dream. We
need some learning processes and keep growing in a continiuosly improvement to pass
some obstacles. But for her, all the difficulties can’t stop her to put up her
dream. She keeps consistent to show us that if we have a dream, don’t just keep it in your mind, but fight for it. She inspires us a lot, and that’s
why most of people admire her. So, I believe that choosing her as our idol can
give us some positive effects.
As one of the most followed artist on Twitter with
more than 10 million followers, she often expresses her feeling again to her
God in that popular social media. On June 2nd 2014, she posted a tweet “feeling
so blessed...thank you Lord Jesus Christ. You are my Strength, my Rock, my best
Friend, my Father. I love You”. We can conclude that she is fully surrender
to God and really makes her God as the main source of power for her life. She loves God so much!.
One of my biggest pride to Agnez Mo is the fact that she always keeps her belief
and never gets influenced of wrong belief like other famous singers or actresses
in the world. In every step of what AgnezMo has done to fight her dream proves
that we must always remember our God because we are nothing out of God.
First, she reminds us to be thankful to God all the
time, no matter what! We know Agnez as a singer and an actress who never forgets to dedicate all of her achievements to
God. For
example, on March 27th, 2012, Agnez accepted her first Shorty Awards as the
winner for Shorty Vox Populi Award 2012 in New York. Proudly she said, “Wow...I wanna thanks to Jesus for being my
Lord and Savior!” It means
that without God, she would never be someone like what we have seen right now with
all her perfect accomplishment. She counts her blessings to God!.
But we have to realize that we can not make all of our
plans run as well as we plan. We have to learn and build our character to be
strongger everyday becoz not all people are strong enough to face the failures,
even some people can kill themselves because of these!. Agnez Mo told us, “Don’t ever give up if you get some failures”. She showed us that it was not easy for her to
be someone like she is already today. She didn’t get support from many people
when she said she wanted to be an international superstar. Many people
underestimated her abilities and thinking that she is arrogant. But it can’t
stop her to fight, and she still keeps confident to be a very positive person with her dream.
She does something seriously! She made it and she is an Indonesian superstar!
Second, she motivates us to be consistent with our
dreams. When Agnez Mo was appointed by American culture Center to speak in front of 300 ACCESS students on Friday,
May 6th 2011, she stated that we must believe in the power of dream because
without dream, we won’t know our goal in life. Our dream must be fully supported
by our consistency and hard working. Don’t let what other people say about your
dream become an obstacles to pursue your dreams. Her statements above have made
us realize that if we have a dream, we have to try to achieve it. She inspired us
to wake up and start to work for our dream!. We have to believe that we can pursue
our dream because we want it. I believe the bright future in our dream is the
first step to make our goal come true.
Fourth, she teaches us to respect our parents more.
When Agnez invited in a talk show, Agnez said, “My parents and I come from a
different fields”. Her parents are national athletes but Agnez was born to be a superstar in entertainment
world (she is a singer; an actress; a dancer, a producer and
a song writer), but she said that her parents always teach her to be a
determined and perseverance person if she wants to get success. And as athlete,
her parents applied the two principles of determined and perseverance in their
career. Agnez followed what her parents told her to be a successful person for
her career. She can’t be a person like she is now without supports from her
parents. From these we can learn that even though we have different interests
from our parents, just respect our parents by following what they say.
Third, she teaches us to be proud as Indonesian. Flash
back again, on March 27th 2012 in Shorty Award when Agnez Mo
achieved that award she is proudly said, “Hey
all. I’m not from here. I’m originally from Indonesia “. From that
statement we conclude that she wanted to let the world knows that she is very
proud to be an Indonesian. Do you know she does not have purely Indonesian
blood? Her father is a Chinese and her mom has Japanese
and Javanese blood, but she was born and grow up in Indonesia. Then she lives
abroad for a long time to reach her international career and I think she never thinks
to change her nationality, because if she wants to change it, sure she has done
that from a long time ago. Indonesia must be proud of her. Why? Because in her
first International music video which is entitled “Coke Bottle”
she wore traditional clothes of Indonesia (baju dodot). Its means that she never forgets her
country and she is so proud to wear that clothes
while other celebrities prefer to wear modern costumes. She wants to show the
world that our traditional clothes are very beautiful, unique, luxurios, and
fabulous. Do you know wearing
such kind of costume is not a simple thing?. It is complicated to wear and it is not as simple as modern clothes.
But she wore it and
she look so sexy. Now, most of us
still confused why many Indonesian people still underestimate her ability to
make this belove country, Indonesia, to be proud of having her.
Fifth, she inspires us to be a sociable person.
Several years ago, Agnez Mo created a social foundation that named “Anak Muda Punya Foundation”. That
Foundation had collected money that was contributed for disaster victim of earthquake
in Padang in the end of 2009, tsunami in Japan in 2011, and also flood in
Jakarta in 2013. The latest information told us that her foundation also helped
the
victims of volcanic eruption of mount Sinabung in North Sumatera. Agnez
inspired people and young generation by these social activities to care with
other people life, especially they are who get suffer from natural disasters.
In summary, idolizing Agnez Mo will give us some positive
effects because she gives so much good examples that are good to be followed
and applied in our life. Her inspiring motto of life “Dream, Believe and Make It Happen” changes our rules life. We are
brave to put more expectations for our dreams. Although it’s almost impossible,
just dream on, believe what you want in God, and you must make it happen.
